Dr Nicole Mather has shaped the policies underpinning the UK Life Science ecosystem over the last four years. As Director of the Office for Life Sciences, Nicole led for government on the development of the multi-billion pound Life Sciences Sector deal, working alongside Prof Sir John Bell to cement key elements of the sector-led Life Sciences Industrial Strategy. Nicole also shaped policy input into the independently-chaired Accelerated Access Review, which aims to upgrade the ability of the NHS to embrace the innovations it needs, collaborating with innovators and embracing the UK’s potential as a test bed to demonstrate the impact new innovations and gather real world evidence. These policies are now being rolled out across the NHS in collaboration with the Academic Health Sciences Centres. Nicole continues to focus on Life Sciences now working in strategy consulting at Deloitte. She holds a DPhil and MSc and MA from the University of Oxford.
